BRRRR…..WINTER WEATHER IS COMING. With it comes an additional problem for the homeless in our area. Warmth is a gift we can give with the production of as many wrap/blankets as we have time and fabric to produce. Pastor Carolyn has a pattern to cut and sew from 100% cotton sheeting or quilting fabric and 100% cotton flannel. If you have either of these fabrics or bedsheets lying around and would like to donate to this project, please bring it to the church by November 13th. Any size/length will work as we can sew smaller pieces together to create the size needed. The fabric/sheet must have been washed at least once since purchase. If you would like to donate to this cause, every penny will be spent on fabric and thread. If you would like to join Veva and Carolyn in cutting and sewing of the project, join us at the church on November 16th at 9:00am. Sewing ‘skills’ not necessary – come to learn and share Christian love.
OUR CHURCH IS ASKING FOR ANY CLEAN, PLASTIC GROCERY SACKS that you have available to share. We will be making mats for the homeless in the near future. Please leave them in the front foyer and I will put them away. Thank you.
ATTENTION MISSION CHAIRS: Please check your respective boxes under the chairs at the back of the sanctuary for your mail. Thank you.

RIVERSIDE FOOD PANTRY – open Saturdays from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m. in the Oakland Christian Church, sponsored by the Riverside Churches. Item of the month for November is peanut butter.
I'VE HAD SOME QUESTIONS about the new format for the bulletins. We have an abundance of letterhead paper in the office that needs to be used. So we are trying to use the paper that we have on hand before getting any more. - Martha
NOTES FROM THE ADMIN COUNCIL MEETING:
It was brought up at the last meeting that the north lounge, south outside entry door and banisters are in need for a fresh coat of paint. If you are interested in any of these projects please let Norma Bolton know at (712) 482-3386.
The choir needs your voices! Please consider expressing your passion for Christ through the music shared by the choir on Sunday mornings. We rehearse at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings and sing at the 10:00 a.m. service two or three times a month.

THE MISSIONS COMMITTEE REPORTS that our congregation contributed $1,095 toward Flood Relief for Southwest Iowa.
AS OF MAY 6, 2019 THERE IS NO LONGER BE A SOUTHWEST DISTRICT OR DISTRICT OFFICE IN ATLANTIC. We are now in the Northwest/Southwest District with district offices being located in Storm Lake, Iowa. Terra Admundson will continue to be our District Superintendent but her office will be a virtual office located in her home. All these changes are being made as our Conference budget needs downsizing. I am grateful and thankful that the congregation at Oakland UMC continues to pay your apportionments.
